The Perfect Phone Call

BFF Sister Jones featuring the Potomac
Guys! This week I was sick and had no voice. It was hilarious. I would call out to people and they would turn around assuming they'd see a 13-year-old boy and BAM two sister missionaries sprinting towards them. (lol jk slight jog slight jog) Really caught 'em off guard. I have a testimony of creative finding.

Even though I was sick there were so many miracles! I don't even know where to start, so I'll just give the best one. We were street contacting last week and we handed out a card to this awesome guy! He said he was already set in his belief but we had a great conversation and then went our own ways. THEN on Monday night we got a call from the same guy and he was like, "Sisters hey, I've been thinking about it, and me and my friend would like to meet with y'all as soon as possible, if that's okay with you." So we died for a second that someone called us, (I thought it was a myth that people actually did that), and we called back to set up an appointment. We met with him and he is SO PREPARED!!! He was like, "Sisters, I've had this question for 50 years now and no one can answer it, do you think y'all can?" We were like, "Go for Gene! Fire away!" And he asked, "What happens to the people who died without hearing about Christ?" THEY HAVE A CHANCE TO LEARN GENE, THEY HAVE A CHANCE :'') I shed a tear, he shed a tear, my mom probably shed a tear reading this.  We also got to meet with his friend and now they are on the road to being baptized!!! Too bad I'm being transferred to Centreville!!! They're in good hands with Sister Jones though <33.

Sorry this email is so lame but at least I have fun pics?? Redemption?? Love y'all! Have a good week!

Love,
Sister Mod

The Referral from the Last House on the Street ;)

-us chillin' in an apt building, as always
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL MY FAV MOMS OUT THERE (especially the one named Marci) (love u Mom). Moms are so special and they deserve all the love in the world. My friend Ballal helped me to know that this Sunday. We asked the little guy if he told his mom happy Mother's Day and he was like, "Ya sisters, of course! I even got her a present." So we were like, "Oh! What'd you get her?" And he says, "A Pomeranian." So casual. We are both like, "What?? Ballal, you got her a Pomeranian?" He's like, "Ya. I was saving up all my money for an Xbox but then it was Mother's Day so I used it to buy my mom a Pomeranian." Hahaha! In conclusion, do you love your mom enough to use your Xbox money to buy her a Pomeranian? Let that one sink in.

Treat yo self
This week we were praying hard to receive inspired referrals from people we meet as we are out working! We hadn't seen much success with it in the beginning of the week, but we kept praying and trying and then FINALLY we felt inspired to go to a certain street and knock. Door after door no one was interested until we got to the very last house. Lol. He actually wasn't interested either, but we asked if he knew anyone that could use a message and after a couple seconds of thoughtful pondering he was like, "Ya, I actually do! 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue." So we are PUMPED at this point. We just got a solid referral right?? So we type 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue into our GPS and lo and behold, we got referred to the President of the United States. Hahahah shoot. God bless America. Also God bless Sister Mod and Sister Jones for not knowing the President's address.

FLOWER BUSHES 😍
On the bright side though, we had President Packer of the missionary department train us on how to use the teaching pamphlets more effectively which was sweet! President Packer told us a story of how he was asked to give a demonstration first lesson to a big group of people, so he was practice teaching to his grandma and grandpa (President Boyd K. Packer, wow right?). When he was done with his 8-minute restoration lesson President Boyd K. Packer said, "Well that was way too long, you lost me at 6 minutes." That really just put things into perspective for me. We are to teach people like the Savior did, line upon line and precept upon precept, every man according to their own understanding. Which means SIMPLY. The gospel is so simple and man am I grateful for that because I still have so much to learn! Love you all. Don't forget to do the little things like say prayers and read scriptures, that's where the power comes.

Do We Know What a Toaster Is??! hahahaha!

Good week, happy week. Ate a frozen burrito on Cinco de Mayo (olé), Sister Jones introduced herself to someone as Sister Mod (comp unity amiright?) and we got asked if we know what a toaster is, hahah. And for all those who are still wondering, yes. Yes we do know what a toaster is. We enjoy great blessings from our toaster daily.

We had some amazing miracles this week but one of my favorite ones was with our bff Gus. So we've been meeting with Gus for a couple of weeks and this week during our lesson we were asking what we could do to help him keep his commitments (to pray and read and come to church) and he was like, "Well, you can call and pray with me!" And we were like okay, ya for sure, how often do you want us to call? (Thinking he'd say like twice a week or something), and he was like, "Well, probably at least twice a day." YA GUS! So we call the man twice a day and he literally will stop whatever he is doing to pray. So sweet <33

As the week went on and we were praying twice a day with our bud Gus, I just got to thinking, how willing am I to drop everything for the Lord? (deep lol) but seriously! We have been asked to do simple things like keep the commandments, minister to God's children, pray and read scriptures. God doesn't ask us (most of the time) to drop EVERYTHING, he just asks us to do the little things. Recommitting every day to doing the little things will bring blessings so great that there won't even be room to hold them. Love y'all! Have a good week!!

Love,
Sister Mod
