The Princess, errr.....Missionaries and the Frog

So this week in order to improve our comp unity we decided that Sister Withers needed to catch a frog too so we could be equally yolked. Night after night we searched for precious children of God to teach, but also frogs, cuz in the beginning God created all things ya know? And then we found a little baby frog so I looked at my companion and said these moving words, "Do it, you won't." And in response to that, she did.. not. hahaha She pinched it and it jumped onto my foot and that relates to missionary work BECAUSE things don't always go the way that you plan. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Speaking of that, we had a bunch of return appointments on Sunday night that we were super excited for, but all of them fell through, so we went out visiting our friends instead! If those appointments had not fallen through then we would have never gone to our friend Hart's house and read a chapter of the Book of Mormon with him. The Sisters have been trying to meet with him for years but not until last night was he open to meeting. God has a plan and even though it might not be ours, it's perfect so we need to trust Him. Love you all!!

New Things and Not So New Things :)

Things that are new with me this week:
1. I ate a clove (are you supposed to do that? sos)
2. I caught a frog with my fingers and held it like it was a piece of sushi
3. Sister Withers and I are staying together for another transfer!!
4. And we started teaching two new families!!!! One from Vietnam and the other from India {wahoooo!!}. Updates to come.

Things that are not new with me this week:
1. A miracle happened hehe.
We decided one day to go finding in an area that we hadn't been to very much, and in the first couple of minutes that we were there we saw a lady walking her dog. We stopped and talked to her and she shared how she thinks that we can't know all that God knows because we just can't comprehend it. We had just memorized a scripture from the Book of Mormon and felt that we should share it with her. It was Mosiah 4:9. She specifically asked, "Only verse 9?" and we said yep so she read it and it says:

"Believe in God; believe that He is, and that He created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that He has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend."

Without hesitating she continued on to verse 10 saying,

Sister WIthers & Sister Mod with the cute mission nurse
"And again, believe that ye must repent of your sins and forsake them, and humble yourselves before God; and ask in sincerity of heart that he would forgive you; and now, if you believe all these things see that ye do them."

After she read that she thought about it for a second and started telling us how she's always had a hard time believing that she could be forgiven of her sins. We had no idea what verse 10 said until she read it but God knew exactly what she needed to hear and He worked through us as His instruments to share that message with her. SO COOL. :))

Ferrets in the Mission Field

This week I would like to call your mind back to the movie Barbie Rapunzel. As you take that journey down memory lane please think of the small animal that looks like a mouse that got sucked through a straw that lives on the queen's shoulder. That, my friends, is called a ferret.  And this, my friends, is a shook Sister Mod because she saw one this week. We were out tracting and someone opened the door. We had a really normal contact with him until he looked down and was like, "Oh!" so I looked down too, and lo and behold I saw the ferret coming to me. Hahah I was like, "What is that?" and he was like, "Ya, that's my ferret. You can pet him." So I did and I'll never be the same. All creatures of our God and King you know what I'm sayin'?

This week's miracle was our friend Heather! She was someone who had been taught before so we decided to stop by and say hello. She was super nice so we talked for a while and shared some scriptures with her, then she asked what we believed about infant baptisms! I haven't gotten that question a lot on my mission so I was interested to know what prompted that question. We explained that we know that children are pure and are happily welcomed into God's presence and she shared with us how her son had passed away at a very young age and how what we said sang true with her heart. :)) I'm so grateful for the perfect doctrine that God has set forth through the Book of Mormon and my testimony grows so much stronger every time I hear that the spirit has born witness of those truths to others! I just love the gospel and all of you! Have a good week!

PS don't look too closely at our pics cuz then you might notice that we forgot to take pictures until Sunday night. Hehe. Guilty as charged.

Mind Blowing!

The singular picture that we took this week.
Sorry Mom and everyone else, haha!
So remember Kevin from like 2 or 3 emails ago? WE LOST HIM. We lost that man. Literally couldn't find or get in contact with him for like 2 weeks. Then we had a prompting to go to his complex one afternoon so we speedily obeyed. Once again no Kevin. So we pull out to leave and as we are driving away we see something out of the corner of our eyes. We whip our heads around only to see our best friend Kevin. In slow motion. Driving away from us on a golf cart. Cya Kev. Hahaha! We made eye contact, he mouthed "hey" and then he disappeared into the sunset. But NOW because of that tender mercy we no longer think that he's dead!!! God is good guys.

It's been an awesome week here in Centreville, full of tons of miracles as usual. Missionary work is the coolest. You know what's also the coolest? THE BOOK OF MORMON. Imma also going to put in a plug for the book "A Case for the Book of Mormon" by Tad R. Callister because it's changing my lifeeee. Like a member told us this week that the Jonas Brothers are back together. Earth shattering?? Mind blowing?? Now imagine 239 pages of that. It's GOLD. Here's a sneak peak of how unreal it is. "No one adequately and properly knows why he needs Christ until he understands and accepts the doctrine of the fall and its effect upon mankind, and no other book in the world explains this vital doctrine nearly as well as the Book of Mormon." I bear testimony that that is true. I love the Book of Mormon with my wholeeee heart. Love y'all! Have a good week.
