THE RETURN OF SISTER BEE STING

This week Heavenly Father reminded me that he has a sense of humor. So we were street contacting and I was sweating SO hard (like worm on sidewalk that has come back to life because of the amount of water on me), and I kept tripping on my own shoe, and then a bee started swarming me, SO I said this quick, kinda sassy, prayer: "Heavenly Father, if you want me to keep doing this right now then please control this bee, amen." And suddenly.....there was no more bee!! Tada. I was pumped and I went up and started talking to a lady about the gospel and as I'm baring my soul to her she looks at me and calmly says, "Ma'am you have a bee on your shirt." So naturally I look at my companion and say SISTER until she gets it off me. Good one Heavenly Father. I see you. Gave me a little bit of PTSD from my MTC bee sting watermelon foot, but I'm recovering, no worries.

Some friends from her first area. So fun that they saw each other!
Remember how I said last week had the coolest miracles?? That was cuz I didn't know about this week. I'll tell ya about Sahid real quick :) We were walking and we saw this guy coming towards us. I only had 1 card left and on the front of it is the question "Is there a God?" So I pulled it out and we went up and started talking to him. We said, "Today we are talking to people about God. Have you ever wondered if God is there?" And he was like, "Yes. It's constantly on my mind. I wake up every day and wonder if there's a God." Isn't that the coolest?? We had an awesome conversation and gave him The Book of Mormon (which he had been looking for for a couple of months but didn't know how to get one). Then we saw him 2 days later walking in the same spot and he was like, "Sisters! I read!!"

There's more to the story but I just wanted to remind you all that God is perfectly aware of you and what you need, and when we keep the commandments and try our best, all things will work together for our good. Being a missionary is 10/10 would recommend. We get to see God's love first hand and I wouldn't trade it for anything. :)))

Love,
Sister Mod

Washed up Worms

In case you were wondering what a washed-up worm looks like
Good morning brothers and sisters. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Sister Mod and I'd just like to bear my testimony on the power of air conditioning. I know that it's true.

I also know that 109 degrees is too many degrees to go tracting in. hahaha jk TRACTING ALL DAY EVERY DAY! LET'S GOOO. This week Heavenly Father swapped the surface of the sun with Centreville, Virginia and now we are a bunch of worms on the sidewalk after a rainstorm. Good thing people feel bad and let us in!!! God works in mysterious ways. This week not only do I have a testimony of air conditioning, but I would like to add my testimony of leftovers as well. We had dinner at one of our darling ward members homes and after it was done she gave us a referral for her neighbor and like 3 bags full of food. We decided it wasn't super nice to tract with food so we ran to the car to drop it off and met Calvin and Darnell! They told us how they were just talking about going back to church but didn't know where to go. It was such a cool miracle to me because it reminded me how God blesses us for all the efforts we put into this work no matter how big or small. In conclusion: giving the missionaries food will bring more baptisms ;)) hahah nah but as we try our best to help with the Lord's work He will use our efforts for the good of other people. Have a good week!!

Lone Peak Comin' at You!

New comps! Sister Mod & Sister Withers
(both went to Lone Peak High School).
The dynamic duo that is Sister Mod and Sister Wood was disbanded but then the dynamic LONE PEAK (my high school) duo was brought together! Sister Mod and Sister Withers comin' at you. LPOD. LDSOD. jk the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints OD. We figured that we were in the same ceramics class so I'd say the comp unity is at least an 12/10. Pinch pots really bring people together man.

This has been a week of SO many insane miracles. I could write an 8 page essay about it but I really don't want to so you'll probably get like 1 more paragraph hahah.

- KEVIN - we had a feeling to go to a certain apartment complex so we did and we met this guy walking his dog. We talked to him and told him we were sharing about Christ and he was like, "Wait! Is your church just right up the street?" And we were like ya, and he was like, "I need Jesus in my life. You could probably get me." As in hey sisters please let me be baptized, heh. Pray for Kev!!!

- ROSALYN - we were about to leave an area and Sister Withers had a feeling to knock on a specific door. That person wasn't interested but referred us to her neighbor. We knocked on the neighbor's door and met Rosalyn who was looking for a church for her and her daughter to go to, but was kinda confused on which one was true. Now we're meeting with them to help her figure it out. :))

Mmmkay there were tons more, but I said I would stop 2 paragraphs ago so I'll just leave it at that. GOD IS SO GOOD. Soooo good and the gospel is so true!!!

When it Rains, it Pours. LITERALLY!

4th of July -- woot woot!
Remember the wise man who built his house upon a rock and then the rains came down and he was good? Surprise!!! I am the wise man and that story was about me, except for I didn't build a house and and there wasn't a rock involved and I'm not a man, but it did rain a lot this week and I'm doing good.

RAIN MIRACLE! Alrighty so we were giving out invitations to our ward 4th of July party and it was sprinkling a little bit as we were driving over to a certain neighborhood. We got out of the car and walked over to a house that we'd knocked before and as soon as we stepped onto their porch it started POURING like Niagra Falls x2. To quote the profound words of Chicken Little, "the sky was falling," and a lady answered the door and was like, "I don't usually let people in, but it's raining super hard so come on in." We were able to teach her and her husband the restoration and they are interested in learning more!! Pray for the Fam family :))

One of the last pics with Sister Wood cuz she's
leaving me for Alexandria. :')
Right now I'm reading in Mosiah and it's blowing my mindddd the destruction that comes from not listening. Like the Lamanites get their daughters stolen and instead of being like hey guys did you steal our daughters can we have them back, they just go and kill everyone. C'mon guys, ask and it shall be given, knock and it shall be opened unto you, and same thing goes for us. You can't expect an answer to a prayer you never said or a question you never asked. It's our responsibility to seek answers and "then do we with patience wait for it." (Romans 8:25) Try a little harder this week to listen and understand the Spirit and I'll do the same. :) Have a good week!!

It's the Little Things

Exchanges with cute Sister Clare!!
Well everyone, this week we moved from the summer season into the molten lava at the center of the earth season. It's a comfortable 99 degrees outside with a chance of death (hahah). At this point we can't tell if it's the light of Christ shining through us or if it's just sweat glistening, tbh probably a lil bit of both. Gotta love Virginia.

This week we were out tracting the mansions at the bottom of our area and THE CUTEST lady answered. She was like, "Oh my goodness, do y'all want to hear a crazy story??" Then she told us how her son is into watching creepy cult videos and she was trying to bond and watch with him, but she felt icky inside. Then her son looked out the window and was like, "Hey, there are 2 girls holding Bibles," and there ya have it. She was SAVED. It's the little things:))) I love it when Heavenly Father shows us that we're in the right place. Love that guy.

No super crazy updates for the week but I did wanted to share a quote I came across from my fave book, Our Search For Happiness by M. Russell Ballard!! It says ".. when considered from the unique perspective of eternity, fame and popularity aren't nearly as important as loving and being loved; status doesn't mean much when compared to service; and acquiring spiritual knowledge infinitely more meaningful than acquiring an excess of wealth." Keep your eyes on eternity brothers and sisters:) Have a good week!!
