Tracting by the Spirit

Ok, so this morning I was reading through my journal to see what I should write about this week and there were some quotes in there that I'd like to share. Thank you. "Oh dude, some sauce went up in the air and came right back down," "Went to a fun Asian market and I bet you 5 cents I was the tallest person in the store," "This morning we moved all of Sis Elliot's earthly possessions. She's making us t-shirts for our moving company called the Settle in Sisters. We're gonna wear pioneer clothing and move people to Utah. Gonna be good." A day in the life of Sister Mod is about as good as it gets guys. 

But a day in the life of Sister Mod and Sister Wood is even BETTER. We have been putting more of a focus on spirit tracting (so rather than just tracting a whole apartment complex we just walk to every level and let the spirit guide where to knock) and we were trying to find this member referral from another ward. The hard part was that we didn't have the person's name or phone number or apartment number, but luckily we had the building number so we headed over anyway. The first door we knock on opens up and IT WAS THE MEMBER WHO REFERRED and she was like, "Oh hey sisters, come in and meet my sister!!!" So we taught her sister Dora and she is golden. When we are open to acting on the spirit, it will GUIDE!!! 

Last but not least, I just wanted to remind you all that the church is true and you need to read your scriptures, and makeup melts off in humidity :))))))) Have a good week and don't look too closely at my pictures :)))))

Alright guys, I'll be real with ya, the most exciting thing that happened this week was when we got to try Taiwanese soy milk. That gives you a TASTE of how my week went *ba dum ts* hahahaha! Sorry, that was the worst. Dad jokes for Father's Day, right??

Now that I've paid my respects to all the dads out there, I want to tell you about a sweet miracle that happened!! We were led by the spirit, not knowing beforehand what we should do, to Panda Express, and we met the COOLEST guy named Eric. Eric has 15 siblings so basically it seems like he is already a member of the church , but I just think it's amazing that God knew exactly where Eric was going to be. We had an awesome conversation and he asked us if he could come to church and meet during the week!! It has been eye-opening for me to see how aware God is of His children, like there is absolutely nothing that can frustrate God's plan (Doctrine & Covenants 3:1-3, check me). This is His work and the most important thing we can do is to just try. Try to be more worthy, try to be exactly obedient, try to follow the spirit and most importantly, try to be like His son Jesus Christ. God is good and Virginia is good and Sister Mod is good and I hope y'all are good. Love you all!!

This week in the world of Sister Mod I was reminded that I, Sister Mod, am not short. I know what you're thinking. "Wow Sister Mod, this is only the 72nd email you've written about your height," and to that I say, ya, you're right. I have no excuses except for my life doesn't have very much variety so neither do my emails hahah sorry. The other day we were talking to a lady and her son came up to us and and looked at me with SO MUCH fear. He just stared at me for like 7 minutes and then he poked my leg and said, "Are your legs real or are you on stilts?" And when I told him they were real, he literally didn't believe me. He was like, "No, for real though." We were laughing so hard! 

We had zone conference this week and it was the BEST!! We talked a little bit about using every second of our day productively because this is the Lord's time and he said, "Don't try to wrap your mind around the whole 18 months, just wrap your mind around today." Life is so much happier when you aren't looking beyond the mark, so my challenge for y'all this week is to ENJOY TODAY. :))

One Year is in the Books

Hey guys, it's me, Sister Mod, here in Centreville. I definitely spelled it wrong in my last email, sorry for the false doctrine, won't happen again lol. Probably. My new comp is Sister Wood from AZ!!! and when I bore my testimony at church on Sunday, I said that I had 18 months left on the mish, so apparently she's training me! hahahah shoot. You know the whole thing about opening your mouth and it will be filled? Sometimes mine is filled with things that are just straight up wrong hahah.

Sister Wood is the best though and this transfer is going to be awesomeee for sure. The people here are SO nice, so pretty much I'm in heaven. We've only had one person hard core reject us in a whole week, so I'd say that's a miracle!! For real like every rejection we've had the people are like, "Hey, I am so SO sorry, I'm not super interested right now but I really appreciate what you're doing and your faith and your enthusiasm and your parents and your dog and this country for letting you do this. God bless you and America, can I get you a water bottle? You look nice today by the way." It's the BEST. My self esteem has never felt better;)) We have also been blessed to find some really awesome people so stay tuned for stories next week.

Can I just say how grateful I am to be on a mission?? 11/10 would recommend. I've learned more here in the year that I've been out than I have in my whole life. (Exaggeration? Ya probs but it's the thought that counts.) I hit my year mark this week and I have loved every second of this. Even the hard seconds hahah. Jesus is worth it. Guys, this church is so true and if you don't know that yet, figure it out for yourself okay? It'll bless ya for eternity. Love y'all tons!
