Just Obeying Doctor's Orders

Mission Map Picture.... Of course!
Ok, to be honest, this week has felt like just a couple of days, so I don't have as many fun stories as last week, but I'll still try my best to entertain. ;)

So Sister Smith and I decided that we're the funniest people in the MTC. We are constantly laughing at each other and I'm pretty sure everyone thinks we're a little crazy, but it's all good. We decided this week that we were the designated welcomers for the new missionaries, so we just sat by the stairs that they come up and yelled WELCOME TO THE MTC for like 30 minutes, and then we accidentally yelled it at our own elders and it got awkward. hahah!

My foot now looks like an actual foot, so that's a happy thing! Yay! The church is true, lol. So we went to the doctor on Monday just to make sure everything was okay, and as you all know from before, Dr. Brown is a man of many words, hahaha! He looked at my foot for another 20 minutes in silence and then he looked up said these profound words, "So, we're going to do nothing. I'd like to follow up on Wednesday." I looked up at Sister Smith and she had to put her head down because she was laughing so hard. So we did nothing and my foot looks the exact same. Shout out to Doctor Brown for knowing exactly what I needed, lol.

Sister Smith and Sister Mod ready to take on DC!
I can't believe it's almost time for me to leave the MTC this Monday!! It feels like I've been here for just a couple of days, but I absolutely love it and I have learned SO much in the 3 weeks that I've been here. We had a devotional by Sister Eubank this week and she said something that I thought was so cool. She said that we need to use our personalities and talents to share the gospel. God called us specifically because there is someone who needs exactly what we have. I think that is so amazing and so true. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much and has given us specific talents to bless other people around us, and I could not be more excited to go share my talents with the President of the United States. Hahaha! Ok, kidding, but no really I'm so pumped to go share happiness with the people of DC. Thank you all for all the sweet letters and darling packages. I am so blessed to have amazing people in my life!! Anyways, Jesus loves you all and I love you all and I hope everyone has a great week:)))

Love,
Sister Mod:)

The District

When you find your good high school friend at the MTC! Sister Brittany Jensen and Paige.
These two girls are going to be sad to leave each other. They'll be besties forever.

Paige got to meet baby Taft (her cousin McCall's one-week-old baby)! Paige was in HEAVEN!
Her cousin Claire came to do TRC and saw Paige and her companion outside studying for their lessons the next day. How cool is this? I love my family. Thanks for all of the pictures!

Paige's new mission president and his wife (President and Sister Caplin) came into the MTC on Friday to be trained, and Paige and Sister Smith got to meet them. Thanks for the connection, Shae! They love them!
Studying away before gym time.

Sister Bee Sting

Sister Smith and Sister Mod. Already BFFs.
I made it out of the first week in the MTC mostly alive;) I love loveee it here! It's been so amazing. My companion said that the MTC is like Disneyland for Mormons and I AGREE, hahah! Ok so maybe not exactly like that, but its pretty close, lol.
My darlinggg companion's name is Sister Smith!! (Almost as hard to say as Modersitzki, but God is merciful to my teachers haha.) She is seriously a short blonde version of me! We have been like best friends since day one. We were already talking about how we're sad to leave the MTC on day two. (The MTC food has changed that by now, but leaving Sister Smith will still be a rough time:')) Anyways, I absolutely love her and we work so well together!
Oooookay, now to get to the fun part of this week, haha. So I got stung by a bee on my foot the night that I was set apart, which wasn't a big deal. My foot was a little swollen but it was fine. BUT THEN I woke up on Thursday morning and it was the size of a watermelon and it was bruised all over. (And no, I know you are all thinking how dramatic I am, but ask anyone in the MTC and they'll agree with me;)) So I went to the doctor and he just stared at me for like 25 minutes and then looked up and said, "It's swollen." Hahaha! Sister Smith and I were like, "Well no kidding Doc." So I got medicine and crutches. Then it got worse, so I got a wheelchair. Then it got worse, so I ended up going to the ER. It was like the evolution of Sister Mod. I just kept getting shorter haha. I ended up being slightly allergic but the bee gave me a skin infection and that's why it was all nasty. Hahah RIP. But I do have to say, Sister Smith and I are now MTC famous. There were rumors about me everywhere and I'm pretty sure I have told the bee sting story to every missionary in here;) I would be chillin' in the lunch room and someone would yell, "Sister Bee Sting, how's it goin'?!" One time we were talking to some elders and I told them what happened and one of them was like, "Oh my gosh! Wait! You're the bee sting girl?? I heard your foot was the biggest foot anyone has EVER seen!" hahaha! He wasn't wrong. I'm tellin' ya I was the talk of the MTC. One time I even got a "YO BEE STING. WHAT UP?" We thought it was hilarious. So the medicine started working and I'm finally back to walking around now, but Sister Smith and I miss our little wheelchair. We made so many friends because of it, so there are for sure more pros than cons to that whole situation:) Plus I got to wear my sandals that look like Jesus' sandals at the MTC, so what could be more of a spiritual experience?;))

Anyways, I love my district like family, my zone is sooo amazing and the MTC is like Lone Peak pt. 2 which is kind of fun! I'm so grateful for the amazing experiences I'm having and how much I'm learning all the time!! I've literally never felt so happy in my entire life and I wouldn't rather be anywhere else than here with my name next to my Savior's, and I challenge all of you to start or continue learning about Jesus Christ and his amazing gospel because IT IS LIFE CHANGING. Thank you all for the cute letters and Dear Elders. They absolutely make my day and I'm so grateful for them!! KEEP 'EM COMIN (address below hint hint;)) I love you all so much and I hope everyone has a GR8 week:))
(Also, shout out to my little brother Tater Tot for having a bday this week because he's such a homie and I love him so much, and shout out to my dad for being my dad cuz Father's Day and he's absolutely amazing and I love him LOTS)

Mirror selfie. An MTC must.
Paige's sister, Shae, works at the MTC and so it has been a perk for them to see each other several times.
My mom heart is so happy every time this happens!
